Safety Services Nova Scotia is committed to providing products and services that meet or exceed the needs and expectations, and assuring or enhancing the health and safety of, our members, customers, workers and stakeholders, while respecting all legal requirements and other requirements.
We are committed to:
developing and meeting objectives that properly account for the risks and opportunities we face and the context of our organization
addressing health and safety issues through the use of the hierarchy of controls
involving workers in the decision-making processes in the management system
the continual improvement of the effectiveness of our management system.
We will continuously challenge ourselves to improve our management system to guarantee safety, prevent incidents and eliminate defects through the review of management system objectives and results.
The management, with the cooperation and support of our workers, is responsible for providing products and services that meet or exceed the needs and expectations, and assuring or enhancing the health and safety of our members, customers, workers and stakeholders. Workers at all levels will be made aware of this policy and relevant aspects of our management system so that they can fully carry out their responsibilities in support of it.
Management System Scope
The Safety Services Nova Scotia management system addresses the following aspects of our operations, regardless of where they are carried out:
The Driver Training Program, including motorcycle training
The Occupational Health and Safety Program offered to clients, including
Occupational health and safety training
Occupational health and safety consulting
Occupational health and safety auditing, and all aspects of the Safety Certified program
Any non-occupational health and safety consulting services offered to clients, such as management system consulting
Our internal Occupational Health and Safety Program
Charitable or public advocacy activities
Those internal processes necessary for the successful implementation of the above aspects, except for those aspects already addressed by generally accepted accounting principles.
Management System Objectives
In 2025 we will discuss their current status with at least 25 interested parties who are either Core, Dominant or Demanding.
In 2025, we will participate in at least four advocacy or awareness events from which we derive no revenue.
In 2025, we will implement a system to track non-conformities.
In 2025, we will investigate at least 95 percent of all student course evaluations containing a rating of “Not meeting expectations”.
In 2025, we will implement at least three quality improvement initiatives and at least three occupational health and safety improvement initiatives.

Customer satisfaction with all of our products
Improvement in our products, leading to an increase in customer satisfaction
Staff satisfaction with their association with Safety Services Nova Scotia
