Support Safety Services nova scotia

Safety Services Nova Scotia (SSNS) is more than a safety training provider, it is a community of people committed to making Nova Scotia a safer place to live, work, and travel. For over six decades, the organization has equipped Nova Scotians with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to prevent tragedies and protect what matters most; their families, their coworkers, and their communities.

As a not-for-profit, we reinvest every dollar back into programs that build safer roads, workplaces, and communities. Through the dedication of its passionate team and the trust of Nova Scotians, the organization continues to create meaningful community impact and ensure that more people make it home safely at the end of each day.

What our clients are saying

  • "I was on the fence about taking the course, verses challenging it. Im glad I did the course, not only were the other people of various skill level, the instructors made the course. They made you laugh when it was time to have fun but made sure you knew when to be serious. They encouraged everyone equally, watched very closely to make sure you were doing what you should and corrected when needed. Great job by all including you folks in training your trainers."
    — Motorcycle Training Student
  • "This is my second course with Safety Services. The instructors take something painful and make it painless!"
    — Alex, Defensive Driving Student
  • "David did a fantastic job! He had the staff focused and engaged (which isn't always an easy task), and provided a great balance between theory, regulatory requirements, hands on activities, and lived experiences."
    — Fall Protection Student
  • "Just completed the bike course; Top notch course with amazing instructors!"
    — April T., Motorcycle Student
  • "I and another scooterist attended the Motorcycle Awareness announcement this afternoon. We were treated to big shiny bikes, RCMP Boots, coffee, cookies and a tour from Robert aka Scooter Chief of the storage area and scoots used in the courses. Thank you and Ride safe!"
    — Ian B.
  • "Jay was really great and personable. As an older new driver I didn't feel as if I was being judged. A good sense of humor made the day and the subject more fun."
    — Defensive Driving Student
  • "I can only speak to the quality of their road test (car, not motorcycle), but my instructor was excellent. He was kind and calm and gave me some very useful and detailed post-test feedback on how I can improve."
    — Driver Education Student
